The services sector is now the most dynamic sector of the global modern economy. Their performances substantially impact the economic and social development both at micro and macro levels. The business models of the services sector require professional management that is able to assure the competitive advantage and sustainable growth. That’s why we encourage the papers to examine and to provide new insights for the core subjects in the services management field.

The Society for Business Excellence jointly with The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, encourage participants as academic researchers, PhD students, specialists from the business service sector, NGO’s or professional associations, etc.  to submit papers on the topic of Sustainability in Tertiary Sector.

Gabriela Țigu is Professor at Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), Tourism and Geography Department in Business and Tourism Faculty. She is PhD adviser, member of Business Administration Doctoral School. With an important experience in coordinating academic programs (being vice-rector for education between 2012 and 2016 and head of Tourism and Geography department in 2008-2012), and in teaching and research activity as well, her scientific interest is focused on service and tourism economy and management. Member of the scientific board for several international symposiums (Romania, Slovenia, France, and Italy) and journals, she is also active in business field, as consultant (e.g. member of Advisory Board of Romanian Competition Council) and tourism journalist (vice-president of Tourism Club Press of Romania – FIJET).

 

Univ. Prof. Mihaela-Cornelia DAN, Ph.D. – member of the UNESCO Department for Business Administration is currently teaching European Business Environment and International Business.

Her professional interests and experience focus on issues in management and marketing, European business environment, the role of universities in the regional development process. She has been a member or a director of several research projects financed with European and national funds, with focus on the link between regional development and entrepreneurship, the impact of entrepreneurship on less developed regions in Romania, the behavior of Romanian young entrepreneurs in an emergent economy, challenges of young start-ups.

Prof. Dan has published more than 40 scientific articles and conference papers. The most cited articles regard the topics of clusters, regional and urban development.  Since 2015 Prof. Dan is the coordinator of the business incubator of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and develops support programs for students interested in an entrepreneurial career. The main goal is to strengthen the infrastructure of the business incubator and to attract established entrepreneurs and business angels for an ongoing support and cooperation.

 

Publication opportunities

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and UNESCO Department for Business Administration on the 22-23 of March 2018 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ). The papers accepted at ICBE 2018 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation.

The presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

In addition, a selection of the best papers will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).

At the final ceremony, for scientific merits and rigour there will be granted two Excellence Awards, and for each section a Best paper award.
