Digitalisation in the era of IoT, cloud and big data changes the profile of the consumers, employees and the practice of management and business administration as we know it: computers and smart connected devices not only modify the way consumers keep themselves informed and buy, but even replace specialists on some jobs and influence, by consequence, the decision making processes. This is why, without fearing a Global forces tend to materially impact the business environment and the way organizations bound with their stakeholders. Globalisation is constantly becoming the rule-of-thumb for all organizations, no matter if they are corporations or SMEs. therefore defining the long-term strategies and the way the business would like to performe. Integrated reporting enhances the way organizations think, plan, and report their business’ story. It is used as an opportunity to communicate a clear, concise, integrated story explaining how value is created within the organization. It can help businesses think holistically about their strategy and plans, make informed decisions, manage key opportunities and risks to build investor and stakeholder confidence, and help manage the organization’s performance. Today, it is critical for organizations to think broadly about performance and strategy, and improve communication to shareholders, investors, customers and suppliers on what drives value for the organization. New communication  technologies and innovation are forcing the classical business models to adapt and integrated reporting is  playing a crucial role in supporting this changes.

The Accounting Profession, jointly with The UNESCO Department for Business Administration, encourage participants as academic researchers, practitioners from the business sector, PhD students, people working in public administration (central bank, controlling authorities) and in the non-governmental sector, etc. to submit papers on the topic of strategic integrated reporting.

Adriana DUTESCU, Professor PhD., RCA, RCTA, member of the Accounting Department, within Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Accounting and Information Systems. Professor Dutescu has more than 23 years of academic experience, both as researcher and lecturer, alongside with a strong business experience in corporate reporting, strategic management and financial analysis. Full Professor and PhD Tutor, Professor Dutescu is the author of severalprofessional and academic books on accounting topics and the author of several relevant articles and scientific papers upon financial reporting based on IFRS, auditing, financial instruments, performance systems in specific industries etc. She is a chartered financial auditor and a chartered tax advisor, with relevant business experience and expertise. At the international level Professor Dutescu has contributed to the activity of the Federation of European Experts, within the Accounting Working Group, to the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group, as a member of the Supervisory Board and to HERMES (Higher Education and Research in Management of European Universities) .

 Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Audit, PhD in Accounting, Adriana Florina Popa has Master diplomas in “Fiscal Law”, ”English Language Education and Research Communication for Business and Economics”, “Audit and accounting management”. Along with the 16 years in academic training and research, Adriana also got involved in the business environment as a chartered expert accountant and tax advisor. Her expertise in taxation, accounting and other related topics is reflected in being a trainer for the Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania, as well for private companies. She authored and co-authored academic papers, books and chapters in her research and practitioner areas of interests, activated as reviewer, while also being editorial coordinator or member in the editorial board of professional journals.

Publication opportunities

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and UNESCO Department for Business Administration on the 22-23 of March 2018 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ). The papers accepted at ICBE 2018 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation.

The presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

In addition, a selection of the best papers will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (

At the final ceremony, for scientific merits and rigour there will be granted two Excellence Awards, and for each section a Best paper award.
