Nowadays, the success of individuals and organizations requires openness to change. The organizations have abandoned the traditional way of thinking about work and work environment. Being employed means more than having a job and performing the activities assigned through the job description. It means a multitude of responsibilities that the organization and the individual share, towards achieving the company’s objectives, and in alignment with the company’s values, mission and vision.

Taking into consideration the importance of developing a new philosophy regarding the HR function in the present VUCA world, the Society for Business Excellence and The Bucharest University of Economic Studies jointly call for papers on

HR – a game changer of the business strategy

deaconu_alexandriaDeaconu Alecxandrina is Professor of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Management Department; she teaches at the Faculty of Management and Business Administration Faculty, in foreign languages. She coordinates PhD students in Business Management and Human Resources Management. She is also trainer in programs for multinational companies and public institutions in Romania and researcher in numerous European and national research projects. She published scientific and professional books and participated in national and international conferences with HR topics. She is also a member of the editorial boards of scientific journals and Chair of the International Conferences Board. Between 2008-2106, Alecxandrina Deaconu was Vice- dean of the Business Administration, in foreign languages faculty, and since 2016 she has been a vice-president of The Society of Business Excellence.


rasca_laviniaRașcă Lavinia is a professor, co-founder, Advisory Board member of The Institute for Business Administration in Bucharest; General Manager and expert of EXEC-EDU – a leading Romanian training company. She has expertise in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, HR, and other related topics. She taught courses at The University of Economic Studies, Romanian American University, Romanian British University. She worked with 10.000+ managers and entrepreneurs in EMBA and MBA programs, short courses, PHARE, ACDI, UDAID, EU programs, in consulting. Educated at HBS, Cambridge, IESE, etc. She has a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship. She authored and co-authored research papers, articles and books, was speaker in conferences, TV and radio programs. Is included Top 100 Successful Women – Capital, Top 200 Most Powerful Business Women – Business Magazin, Top 1000 most important business people – ZF, The Encyclopedia of Romanian Personalities – Who is Who, etc. Member of HR Club and of Society for Business Excellence, Co-founder and first president of Professional Women’s Network Romania.


Publication opportunities

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and UNESCO Department for Business Administration on the 22-23 of March 2018 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ). The papers accepted at ICBE 2018 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation.

The presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

In addition, a selection of the best papers will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (

At the final ceremony, for scientific merits and rigour there will be granted two Excellence Awards, and for each section a Best paper award.
