Marketers become more accountable for the marketing performance and the return on investment of their organizations. They must exploit opportunities and face challenges that abound on national and global scale. Various marketing dilemmas in the fields of practice and research call for the right answers. Do opportunity identification and marketing performance depend on the size and financial resources of the organization? How do innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit reshape customer experience and marketing performance? What marketing strategies are more impactful and able to generate better market results? This mini-track is a platform to debate the diverse facets of the present and future of marketing.

The main topics covered by the hereby call for papers are related to:

  • New strategic approaches to customer experience;
  • Innovation and creativity in marketing;
  • Entrepreneurship in marketing;
  • New trends in marketing management;
  • Measurement of marketing performance.

Carmen Bălan Ph.D. is a professor who teaches marketing at the Faculty of Marketing within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania. Her fields of specialization include marketing, marketing management, marketing research, logistics, marketing channel management and customer relationship management. She graduated academic/training programs in Europe and the USA. She authored or co-authored more than 25 specialty books published in Romania or abroad. At the same time, she is author or co-author of 49 articles/studies that were published in recognized specialized journals of international circulation. She has significant experience as reviewer.


Corina Pelau is Associated Professor Ph.D. at the UNESCO Department for Business Administration and Vice-Dean of the Faculty for Business Administration, in foreign languages, within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania. Her main fields of interest are consumer behavior and research, marketing-controlling and performance measurement. She is the author or coauthor of 3 books and published over 60 articles in scientific journals indexed in international databases or at international conferences. She was member in 4 research grants. She is member of the scientific committee of several international journals or conferences. In the period 2008-2012 she has coordinated the organizing committee of the International Conference on Business Excellence,



Publication opportunities

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and UNESCO Department for Business Administration on the 22-23 of March 2018 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ). The papers accepted at ICBE 2018 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation.

The presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

In addition, a selection of the best papers will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (

At the final ceremony, for scientific merits and rigour there will be granted two Excellence Awards, and for each section a Best paper award.
